After almost three years of community advocacy by Friends of Embarcadero Bricks, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved over $15M to renovate Embarcadero Plaza.

This project will create a new town square for San Francisco, a space to celebrate Bay Area arts, music and culture.

The Friends of Embarcadero Bricks built partnerships with neighborhood associations like Golden Gateway Residential Association, commercial developers like BXP and downtown nonprofits like Advance SF. These partnerships ultimately built widespread business and political support for a significant renovation of the largely unused Embarcadero Plaza park.

The Friends of Embarcadero Plaza was founded in June, 2022 to help drive the renewal of downtown San Francisco. Founders include Chris Keene, Eric Eislund, Kevin Bartram, Marcus Guillard and Ryan McNeil.
