San Francisco released a final design for their $40 million renovation of Embarcadero Plaza. Mayor Daniel Lurie said, “We are reimagining Embarcadero Plaza and Sue Bierman Park, turning it into a true
front door to downtown and a destination in its own right.”
Construction is scheduled to start late 2026, with the renovated park opening in early 2028.
If this schedule holds up, it will have taken just under 6 years for the Friends of Embarcadero Bricks to go from their initial concept to a fully transformed Embarcadero Plaza.
